Rainbowsix Vegas 2 (urgent!)

ok i have just brought Rainbowsix VEGAS 2 for the pc and im just waiting for my new 256mb video/ graphics card to come through before i install it, and i was looking at the system requirements, i have all the requirements like the RAM and (soon to be) the right graphics card/ video card for the job plus the hard drive space, but then i realised for the processer it says "3 GHz pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 3000" but my processor is Intel Core 2 duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz. Will it still work or will it be really slow becasue 2.2 is less than 3, and that aint good. but the name of my proccesor sounds like fast (and cool!)

So will it work at all, or will it be really slow, or will it still be normal/ fast because my other components are better than the reccomended.

From what i understand about dual core is,

each core is 2.20ghz?

So you actually have 4.40 ghz

Don't quote me on this though I could be completely wrong.

No, you have two cores running at 2.2, not a chip running at 4.4ghz.

Think of it this way dude, your recommended chip is 3.0ghz, instead you have 2 slightly slower cores that can run more processes in a shorter amount of time. Your processor is faster than recommended.

Besides, vegas 2 is largely gpu intensive so unless you have an 8800gtx coming to maintain a framerate over 60 you won't notice any increase from a faster cpu than yours.

ok i kind of understood that, so it wont be slow?

also anyone else have the game, and is it free to play online with it?

Thanks for clearing that up!

Best way to think of dual cores...

Normal cpu single core:

1 person working at a checkout.. que of 30 people... takes 10 minutes to get them all through

Dual core / core 2 duo

2 or 4 people (depending if dual or quad core)working at checkouts.. que of 30 people split between the 2 or 4 checkouts which halves (or quarters) the total time time taken even if they work at a slower speed

i think vista has a performance check, which my p4 2.8ghz HT processor scored very substantially lower that my mates 1.6ghz core duo, which is in a laptop.

but i might have to look into the new rainbow 6s, had a few old ones and they were quite entertaining.

i've ran vegas 2 on a e2140 @1.6 and 8800GT at max settings and it's pretty smooth, OC'ing to 2.8 give a good extra 10-15fps

how do you do that, and what does that mean?

if you dont really know what your doing i wouldnt bother. Overclocking is fun.. as much as tuning a car to be honest.. but at the same time.. its not overly worth it even though ive overclocked my 1.86ghz e6300 to 3.25ghz the gains are only loading times around 10 seconds quicker etc..

i got the game yesterday, runs smoothly, (no lagg)

is it possible to actually speak on multiplayer? because otherwise its a bit boring, story modes good though!
