EchoSam
It depends on what grind you are doing. You can give a rim more light grinds, and heavy grinds obviously not to many. Hope this helps. Tom

LukasMcNeal
how many gaps can a chain handle before it snaps? Good point, I would just ride it until it dents or brakes

Krisboats
My ronnie had over 30, it was dented everywhere though and the majority of the sidewalls had cracked/snapped.
matt rushton
my try-all got 7 grinds before the sidewall tore off dual disks ***... Why did you grind it if you had dual disc?
Ash-Kennard
he was trying to write for the win, but comes up as *** if you abbreviate it i get loads of grinds on, but i destroy non ground rims just as fast to be honest

psycholist
You'll know when the rim is on its way out when the sidewalls start to curl outwards thanks to being too thin to resist bending from tyre pressure.
N.Wood
You can usually tell by looking at the top of the rim (tyre side), if its got a nice rounded/chamfered edge you're still good, if its sharp you've only got a little while left before it dies. Gandalf the Yellow
just keep doing it till it dies, i can never tell if my grinds are harsh or not so i don't really care just tend to get on with it...plus it makes predicting hard... i think you'll be alright with a fair few grinds with the echo rims as they were revised to have thicker sidewalls for extra grinds. steve

That kind of depends on the rim though. My echo 07 had a sharp corner on its first grind that lead to me getting pinches all the time. I have to run some sandpaper round the edge now after every grind so i don't puncture the tube every couple of minutes.
