dandadude
To be honest you learn the technique and then slowly the height of things increase, im not really one to speak though as i cant get above 1ft with most moves. Now if your after techniques there are lots of websites you can go on, your best bet is to just use the search. Hope this helps. spartan
I find that for moves going up that, until your going pretty high, technique takes a back door to brute strength. I mean if you want to pedal kick up a 2 foot wall then you have to be able to pedal kick obviously but mostly you need to be able to really jump off of your legs and pull hard with your arms, after that just pull the bike up into you and stick the rear to the wall. If you find a flat piece of road or w/e then practice going as high as u can with a sidehop then landing on the ground its a great way to practice. For distance its harder because you have to go up and forward. I find that i jump up with my body and forward with the pedals. So the pedal kick takes you forward and your body take you up. Also, for static gaps it helps to take off at a slight angle, it helps you really jump into that gap rather then into the handle bars. Keep practicing, Ian

The Stig
I found that when i was learning to pedal up "backwheel" I alwways threw my arms up stmaped on the last pedal turn as hard as i could and stuck my arse out and bike up!!! I can do like 32-34" backwheels after 7 odd months of riding. so yeah try that Tom

otaylor38
Yes that was a good post but i find that seeing how high you can go on flat land does not work as well as actually doing it on something. i think this is because you know that you have to do it and it you dont you could brake something lol. on flat land there is nothing to go for because it doesnt really matter if you do it or not. I think that the best way to learn this is start on something small like a curb and then go onto something slightly bigger and so on untill you can go up the object that you wanted to go up to start with. this way you have a goal and itmay not seem as hard as doing it straight away but then again that is just my way of doing it and what ian said may work better for you because people learn better in diffrent ways. lol Edited June 5, 2008 by otaylor38
tris
thats the problem where i am!!! i can backwheel maybe 1.5 foot but thats the only size wall near where i live, a 1.5 foot high wall or a 3.5 foot wall!!! so annoying, theres no where local i can ride and keep getting gradually bigger..... spartan
In terms of the falt ground thing i meant more like just to get the feeling of rippage. As for the wall guy, just practice on that wall until your really smooth, then do random things on it, 270 or 360 out, ups to front wheel, front wheel 180s, abbubacas, foof it if u can Just dont get bored man, then when u go on a group ride your dialed on the small stuff and going big isnt to hard.
