JD™
I'm sure this could go in the angry thread but I'm so angry that I don't give a f**k where it goes. Why do some people feel it is acceptable to let themselves into MY f**king flat and take MY f**king stuff? I can't f**king believe it, I live in a nice secure little area but it seems nowhere is safe. If anyone happens to be offered the guitar in my avatar then let me know because I would gladly lose everything else to get that back. Anyone else been robbed? At least that makes it a discussion eh? forteh
That sucks Had 4 bikes stolen in the past and apart from one have been lucky with insurance, police were all but useless in all cases though (caught the cnut that stole 2 of them and let him off with a fine ffs     ) Hope you get your stuff back Edited June 3, 2008 by forteh
anzo
Shit mate. I hate scum. I've never been broken into (house)...its kinda like Fort Knoxx. Although I did once have my car broken into and that was pretty f**king low. Smashed the driver side window, nicked my CD player, cd wallet, a bag of bike bits and peices (innertubes, allen keys, chain, oil), my Giro Xen and even a can of anti-freeze and a cloth that I wipe my windows with? It was pretty horrible afterwards, the thought that someones been going through all your stuff and they have a mind set that its theirs to take, with no conscience what so ever. I think the worse feeling is that its probably someone I've known for years...

Rich J
Got robbed yesterday during my exam. Gutted. But more gutted at the fact alot of the stuff was from work. Wallet 20 quid and my keys. Works phone 50 pound float. Gone. Cctv might pick something up but even if it does nothing will get done.
JD™
thanks for the thoughts and that, but without having had your own property rifled through and shit I doubt it's easy to properly grasp how horrid it is. Having a bike nicked is gash, but a laptop with 4 years worth of my solo recordings on, and the main guitar I used, and knowing that someones been through every single draw and cupboard of your personal posessions that you knew, loved, and worked hard for is just taking the f**king biscuit. Thank f**k I didn't have a nice TV.

Ring your local cash convertors and porn brokers etc also get in contatct with the bobbies in case you already havent. check ebay and local classified adds in local newspapers supermarkets, post offices etc. Also ask around music shops as they may try and sell it there, or music venues etc.

Second time we were on holiday so got back in the middle of the night to find our house was empty. pretty s**t feeling. But if danny knows where my shit is I'll exchange _ALL_ of my stuff for some anal virginity as long as we never speak of it again... And cheers larry, I had done a fair few of those, but you've given me some extra avenues, cheers! Insurance for the win boys and girls, I know I wont decide to be without it ever again after learning the hard way.

anzo
Get one of those UV pens; write your details on the back of your property. Obviously nothing major, Postcode and house number maybe? I don't think Cash Converters accept any electrical property without checking it for identification marks first. And I assume the police will check any property they assume to be lost/stolen. Really is worth it...especially for the sake of about £2 a pen!
531joshua
Sorry to hear about it. I hate people that think they have the right to steal your shit. I got burgled a few times a while back, for my bikes. The first time my shed wasn't really up to much, so the thieves just unscrewed the hinges and used my hacksaw to cut the chains, then took off with 3 pedal bikes and 2 motorbikes. I then made the shed more secure, never been burgled in that shed since. I've got a shed round my back garden though, which some thieves attempted to steal my Gasgas motorbike out of, they done it during the day too (good time for robbery really as everyone in my street was at work or out)... they ripped the fence off the back, then ripped the planks of wood off the back of the shed, snapped the frame of the shed, lifted four push bikes chained together out of the way, then got to the Gasgas but it had a U-lock on the rear wheel so they left with nothing. Can't imagine what it must be like having your own house/living area robbed though, as you've said, to think the sum bags have had their hands all over your pad, and went through all your personal shit. As far as police go, they're shit... although I don't suppose there's much they can do in most cases. Hope everything goes back to normal for you soon dude, such as shit situation to be in. If you do this, try to keep it up to date though I had two laptops pinched just before Christmas, and while I was talking to the police guys they said how UV marking was pretty pants Obviously it's better than nothing, but it wears of quickly (especially on things that will be subject to things brushing against them, wear etc) so keep it refreshed

Hendrix
Mate! That sucks. I'd be seriously pissed if any of my gear got nicked. If you pop over the specs of your guitar, I'll post a "Stolen" add at ACM, Guildford. You never know, they may try and shift it there. Either way, s**t!!! but a laptop with 4 years worth of my solo recordings on, and the main guitar I used If it's a mac, ring apple, and tell them to get the information off it for you. I think they still do that now. But dayum,
