Ubuntu_user
I have a Magura Marta probably 2005 model, and it does not feel like a real hydraulic disc brake! It has a mushy feel... And I just got done bleeding it but it still feels the same! Could it be that one of my cylinders has gone bad? What would be causing this? Thanks! liam-pantera
cracked caliper? bent disk rotor , but every marta ive ever used has been solid with a lovely feel to it perhaps give magura a email and see if they have any ideas ?
monkeyseemonkeydo
Might be worth checking that the lever blade isn't cracked at the pivot point... Marta levers design kind of promotes that if not looked after or modified.
Ubuntu_user
Rotor is perfectly straight! Cracked lever is an idea... how would I know if that is it? It does seem probable as the lever is kind of floppy/loose...

It does seem probable as the lever is kind of floppy/loose... If you look at the lever from the front of the bike, you should be able to see where the blade pivots about. The holes in the blade can flex and eventually crack and you should be able to see this if you have a look . Edit:
Ubuntu_user
Hmmmmm... That's not it. It's not cracked at all... Both the pivot and cylinder mounts (or whatever their called) on the lever are really wallered out. Could that be the cause? craigjames
if theres sleck in the lever from wear then yes it will make it feel a little mushy.
