16 years later
I was tweaking my back brake today and one of the threads went (its 4 bolt). So I tried locktite did not work. So I thought I would just tap and die a new thread and use a bigger bolt. But its not as easy as I thought and its completely f**ked. I don’t know what to do now I’m thinking weld it to the frame and save up for a new one.If you could helpThanks Bruce

Shaun H
Worst comes to worst you can get a welder to put a blob in the hole you've raped and then you can start over.Although it will adversely affect it's strength.
Marten@ScandinavianTrials
Did the same thing today, stripped out the maggie-mount. No wonder though, 5mm of m4 thread into soft aluminium.. such a stupid design its criminal.Still hurts screwing up my brand new BT 8.0 though... Going to get it heli-coiled if I can't just get a longer bolt to work.
