If you do it the way I put it in that guide, it means you're more prepared to do different lacings, different techniques, etc. Just a lot easier overall if you know what you're doing If you've got all the stuff that you need to build a wheel with you, it makes that guide a lot easier instead of just trying to guess it by reading it without a wheel needing to be built, if you see what I mean?
