Micro Sd Card Compatibilty

Picking up my LG KU990 "Veiwty" tommorow.

Now the Manufacturers site states - "External Memory (MB) MicroSD, up to 2GB"

Does this mean it will only work with up to a 2GB card, or it it recameneded?

I was about to Buy a 8GB or 4GB Card but thought I would check 1st. Would the Phone still work with a larger card, or would it have adverse affects on the Phone?

I know the manufacturere is allways right, but would the phone be able to cope with a Larger card??

I had a motorolla phone that olny worked with like 512 but stuck a gig in and it worked,

But was really slow to load up.

Best to go ask a mobile phone shop or somthing.

Phones for you recamended 4gb for it, they conveniently had them on offer.

ok working for t-mobile and selling these phones all the time i can tell you that a 4GB card will work but the software on the phone wont be able to handle it very well and will run very slowly. thats why LG reccomend a 2GB card as its the largest card that wont adversely affect the performance of the phone.

4GB will not work with the Viewty.

My brother has one and had to take his 4gb back and swap it for a 2gb card.

There's a storage capacity limit for 'normal' SD cards of 2Gb. You can get bigger SDHC (High capacity) cards but they don't work (properly) in all phones. As for whether it'll work for MP3s on the viewty I don't know, you'd have to find someone who has tried it.

do bear in mind that all network providers put different software on their phones, so although i works very poorly on the t-mobile viewty it might not work at all on another network providers.

Not sure if it's possible to flash the phone to accept SDHC. My phone (if you can call it that) - an XDA Orbit running Windows Mobile 6 can have the SD driver updated to make it work with SDHC.
