Sneakers O'Toole
I hope it is something interesting because then we will get Patrick Moore on TV explaining it. I love his Sky at Night programme.

Haz
Well, I'd imagine it'll be on all the major news networks, who will stream it from the said feed.
eskimo
I don't get it. They've been tracking something for 50 years which is no doubt a bit of rock.
Karl Butcher
It was just on Sky New abouts Nasa have been keeping records going back years of Aliens coming to this planettheir might be more about it on the evening news
Revolver
I don't get it. They've been tracking something for 50 years which is no doubt a bit of rock.Possibly the asteroid they think is coming and will wipe us out.I vote lying on the floor with paper bags over our heads a lá Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Tomm
Lol I very much doubt they're going to be announcing that they've found aliens. Probably just some big star or black hole that only means something to you if you're an astrophysicist. Would be cool if it was something interesting though! They've been looking for it for 50 years, which rules out alien life or another planet in our solar system - people have been looking for these for more than 50 years. hI-OOPS-CAPS
I'm actually psyched. In a geeky way.yeah me too, chandra is an xray telescope so i really doubt its an asteroid or anything we can visualise
Revolver
maybe they've found the start of the universe.Apparently if you look far away enough, you can see where the universe is being created. However, we only see things in the past, as the light takes so long to reach us.
MadManMike
After all this hype it'll blatently be a rock or something lolI do hope it's something amazing, but I don't reckon it will be.
Luke Rainbird
However, we only see things in the past, as the light takes so long to reach us.Much like if you look into the sky, you see the sun (roughly) 8 minutes ago
Revolver
yep. Even goes down to the fact that throughout our entire lives, we see things in the past. Really really slightly in the past though, but so much some tiny event quantum physics could occur and you never know.
Mark W
yeah me too, chandra is an xray telescope so i really doubt its an asteroid or anything we can visualiseYeah, I was thinking that (ABout the X-ray thing). It'll be interesting hearing what they've got to say, though I doubt it'll really impact on many people's lives*.*Prepares to get f**king massively proved wrong.
