Demiourgos
Hi! I have to buy a pair of rims. So far I have been riding Alexrim dm24 on front and sun mammoth on rear in my street/trials bike. Now I bought a trully trials bike (Echo Pure 07 on deng parts) and I need some good rims.I'm not completly a beginner but I'm also not a pro. Mainly I ride street trials. I dunno which rims would be better for me. Try-alls or DOBs? Dobs are lighter....but maybe weeker , Try-Alls are heavier but they may be stronger? Are they? Please help, Demiourgos. Jason222
I run dob front with a disc, meta (same as try-all, but harder alloy) rim on the rear with a grind...works good! Dob rims don't really grind well, I had a few on the rear...they hold up well...but I'd prefer something that grinds nicely.
Ben John-Hynes
Dob rims on the rear are a real risk,I'd run Dob ont front,Try-all on the rear.I never managed to dent my try-all, and i'm a big heavy landing b*****d!
JoNnY__Mc
(My opinion) If you ride mainly street why not consider something like an echo 07, onza ronnie or alex dx-32 for the back? In my experience these are stronger and hold grinds better!(In relation to your topic) tryall rims front and back, coust pads on a light grind work really well with tryall rims apparently! I have heard that its hard to get a good grind with a dob rim. However if you are going to be running a smooth rim and are a abit of a weight weenie then go for the dob rim Remember to consider your brake set up and how it will work with your new rim when looking at which rim to purchase, this is just as important as weight and strength. Matthew_Gibson
From what I've heard on here, DOB rims don't hold there grind too well as they aer made from magnesium alloy. I've had Ronnies in the past, but they died after a few grind. If your a smoothish rider this shouldnt be a problem. Currently running a Echo 2007 rim which I must say is like a Mavic, only wider (meaning VERY strong) holds grinds well too. I've had the rim for just over a year! which is a long time for me. It has no dents. still as it was a yeaar ago. well i have ground it twice in that time. Id go for a Echo rim.

Greetings
The only thing I hate in the Try-All is that the sidewalls are at a slight angle. It makes setting the brake up REALLY difficult.Echos are heavy as f**k. Dobs are weak. Go Tryall
