dan_addison
El caminos are more of a Downhill break you'd be better off with avid bb5 or 7. Also have a look at the hope mono trial
Gandalf the Yellow
Hi guys would the Hayes El Camino Be a good choice for a budget disc brake for a 221 PR?A magura marta cost 900+ SGDwhile an EL camino cost only abt 400SGD.i really liked the feel of the el camino levers, better than the HFX9's, should be ok i guess, but not sure if its any good for trials, is it front or is it back?steve
spartan
I would stay away from hayes as much as possible.Their are all really squishy cept the strokers and the lever design might be the worst in the world.BB7 is a way better choice, front or rear.Hope mono trial is orgasmic though, my friend has one on the rear, i hate him everytime i ride it lol. spaceman
Hi guys would the Hayes El Camino Be a good choice for a budget disc brake for a 221 PR?A magura marta cost 900+ SGDwhile an EL camino cost only abt 400SGD.Whoa El Camino is quite cheap here? (Got my HFX-9 at 350 a pair in 05, lol)I would stay away from hayes as much as possible.Their are all really squishy cept the strokers and the lever design might be the worst in the world.BB7 is a way better choice, front or rear.Hope mono trial is orgasmic though, my friend has one on the rear, i hate him everytime i ride it lol.I have to agree, stay away from Hayes. I hated the feel of my HFX-9, and I celebrated when I sold it away. And the Stroker looks good too, not too sure on performance wise. And the Stroker copied the maggy TPA wheel design! But instead of pad adjustment, it's lever adjustment. -.-'Wiremesh, I would get a Hope if I were you. Or Magura.
spartan
trust me hes not kidding, i would ride 2 weeks with no front brake to save for a hope before i would buy a hayes, and the bb7s are mad cheap with mad power, and u can use the mech lever u like. bikeperson45
Can't go wrong with a BB7, cheap, good braking, can't find a flaw.
