Hehe cheers guys, would have gone for longer but housemates don't appreciate 2kW sound systems at 1:00am on a Thursday lol

Really appreciate all the listeners! Nice one TF crew :) :)

Next week, same again - different tunes of course. Sorry if I missed you out in the shout outs, had LOADS to mention.

Really wanted to mention Oli and DJ but didn't know how to go about it - will do next week though!

Much love x

Could say something like 'wanted to mention this last week but didn't find the right time, i want to dedicate this show to oli and DJ who are two very missed legends, this goes out to you!' *break in with a FAT tune*. Epic?

But tonights show, was SOOOOO good man, you really showed what you're made of. Was a perfect show. Are you on some kind of probational period with the radio station? If so, don't even worry about that, they'd be stupid and f**king retarded to get rid of you.

Mega awesome.

i carried on listening after i left the chat, just chilling out to it and it worked really well. the back to back stuff at the end was a nice change as well. you dont happen to have rapidshare uploads as well do you? I missed the first 10 minutes or so and would definately wanna hear that bit..

you confident you can drop just as many big tunes next week without losing any of the obvious epicness that was there?

Yeah all the DJ's on RR use a program called SimpleCast - it streams from my mixer to their server, then you all connect to their server to stream to your PC :)

And I don't know if people were being serious but it was 100% live!

PocketRocket - The epicness will be there every week! :D

I couldn't upload it to Rapidshare because, well it just wouldn't work :(

I can send over MSN if you have three weeks to spare.

Was it this distorted for everyone? The first hour is really distorted on the recording - was it like that live?

i was only mucking about with the recorded comments, because you kept saying it when i wasn't able to get into chat...

sound quality wise it definately sounded treble heavy, which was distorting it on my speakers, for the first hour/hour and a half but i haven't listened to the recording so i dont know if thats worse or not. the only other thing was that your mic voume was all over the place - it was real quiet at the start, about right in the middle and then back to being well quiet... who listens to what Djs say anyway though eh? ;) only kidding

it did distort a little bit - coulda been the music though

If you can do it through your mixer, surely you can just use headphones - that way you can play all night without disturbing anyone :P

Ah right cool, well if it ever distorts let me know - it's hard to judge it (Especially as you have to make it go into the red before people can hear it... which defeats the object of having a red bit on the peak meter!)

The microphone was a new one on me, so getting the volume was tricky - I know the best volume to use now, and to use the "Talk over" function that cuts the music down.

It was my first time, next week will be much better as I know what level to have everything on now :D

It's impossible to just use headphones - well, it's not, but it's not worth it. Hard to explain unless you're a DJ, but you can't hear crossfading and stuff in the phones. It got to 1am and I'd turned the sound system down so much the mixing was too sketchy so I gave up lol

yeah, i think i understand - you listen to the current track through the speakers, and the next one through the phones, and you can isolate the sound from each by either putting the phones on or not. So if you used just the headphones it would be hard cus two different tracks would be coming into different ears.

Close enough yeah, you'd not know which one was louder or whatever - you could mix them but it would be very sketchy now being able to fade one in gradually... that's why with a monitor speaker you get to hear what everyone else hears so you can quickly adjust if need be...

In headphones it's just two songs playing - the position of the crossfader / volume sliders is not taken into account.

  • 4 weeks later...

After the technical problems last week, I'm back. Using a crusty old mixer - though it will do the job :)

Get yourselves in the chat room later for some shout out action.

This week is gonna be a real mashup of styles, Electro with hints of Dubstep and even a few Hip Hop tracks mashed in.
