Swindle Swindle Swindle.

There's one thing i have never understood about you in the whole time i've seen you riding.

Your sidehops, i want this answered now. How come your the only rider, who hardly pre-loads, hardly kicks, and fly's up ? seriously, it looks like you fly and it's always blagged my head as to how you do it ?

I've noticed you hardly tuck aswell, i mean that wall at police station at sheff, it was like you basically said "yeah, lets just jump up here" i mean wtf.

Loved the vid though man. Deng sponsor for you soon i reckon.

Ride soon :)

i dont see why people are giving you grief for using tar

Because he's supposedly advertising brake pads. Tar is dirty and if you're going use it, you can use whichever pads you like because it makes no difference. Obviously the megapads are shit need more work but videoing it and putting it in this topic which is supposed to promote the pads is just comedy :giggle:

But the majority of riders grind their rims, and give or take minor differences in performance, almost all pads on the market will perform better as a result, regardless of compound. Isn't everyone forgetting this? I'm willing to bet that not many people on here (apart from those more into the streety/manual side of trials, and who need modulation) would run a smooth rim and trust to the pads alone for grip, because it wouldn't work. Not many pads are out on the market which could perform as well on a smooth rim as they could on a grind. People seem to be forgetting that they use the equivelant but more durable form of tar by grinding their rims, and because this is so commonplace a practice, have come to confuse the performance of the pads with the performance of the grind. Danny's just doing what we all do - getting that little extra bite out of our pads by any means possible, and if tar is his thing, then why not? Obviously it wasn't the smartest move putting the tar application scene in to coincide with the pad sponsors name, but to criticise him for doing what we all do oursleves is some serious hypocrisy.

Rant over.

As for the riding, you've got some seriously massive stuff going on there mate. Sidehops and front wheel gaps are completely huge. You should start to combine them into lines though - if you started doing that, and throwing some of those 180's you did in for good measure, you'd have a really nice combination which would bridge the gap between "street" and tgs. Awesome stuff.

I hear what you're saying but why would you spend money on expensive "mega" pads when any old pad would do, if you're going to use tar?

Good pads + grind = good brake for all conditions

Any pads + tar = very grabby brake, no modulation, terrible in the wet, can stick on if you're not careful, requires constant reapplying of tar etc.

Grinds are shit to be honest. Give me a smooth rim anyday. I've never had a amazing brake with a grind, but i just got some old zoo pads, smoothed rim and put them on, dab of tar. Best brake ever.

Tar needs to be used on a smooth rim with soft pads.

Just like, a grind needs to be used with hard pads or else they wont work :)
