Broomer
It was a bit of a letdown this year as far as trials was concirned, think i counted 13 trials bikes all together, 3 of those were ashtons, and 4 were mine and freinds. Was still an awesome weekend though, the BMXing was pretty insane, the music was awesome in the smaller arenas, and the whole atmospher was pretty amazing, all in all, we all got pretty drunk and sunburned and had a laugh. Met pleanty of new people too, which is always good. I managed to sneak in late on saturday night.....

Broomer
how and where did you manage to do that?! about an hour and a half of crawling around fields and hedges. we climbed under a fence about 50 metres away from the main toll gate.. wasnt really worth the stinging nettles and ruined pair of trainers though. eskimo
Am i the only one who thought it amazingly sucked ass?! The festival was fully shit. £3 for a pint of flat/ watered down beer?? Are you kidding me?! They had £2 listed on the site. I can't believe it, the beer was already poured and just left there on a table. I also 'heard' that they were selling the alcohol back to people. I got searched in the way in too. I arrived Saturday with a full priced camping ticket yet i missed a day. They asked me if i had weapons and such which i said no. Asked about the alcohol and i was like yeah. The guy then immediately dived into my bag after i said this tried taking my 12 beers out. Had to 'remove' them back from him and he then got all gay on me. Saying i wasn't allowed in with my beer and they had to take it. I just plainly said, "i'll take it back to my car." But he reckoned i was allowed entry if i didn't give it to him. I pretty much just gave him shit there on. Got in though and kept my beers. Security were over the top, and mostly dicks. (i've met cool security people before so it's fair to say this) One, one warehouse of shops, com'on, you kidding me?! No event times listed anywhere or given out in flyers. The flatlanders were competing for cans of Relentless?! Seriously Relentless suck. Not even a tee or dvd. Why? The Drum & Bass arena had less bass than Less Than Jake I think i could go on about it... It just seemed they were on a money making mission and really didn't give a toss. I've no problem with Police and the No Alcohol policy IF they provided us with an Event. I didn't go there to get hammered, i wanted a few beers while watching some skating and riding. As it did go, the skating and riding on the park course were amazing. The effort was 110%. Bring back the Backyardjam! about an hour and a half of crawling around fields and hedges. we climbed under a fence about 50 metres away from the main toll gate.. wasnt really worth the stinging nettles and ruined pair of trainers though. I also found Cow Shit in my shoes. I had to smuggle in my mate who was removed about 4 times. So my Saturday was spent doing that.
craigjames
on reflection it did seem like the spent more money on the security than actually putting on the festival itself. the beer was over priced, but then beer in festivals always is. yes it was flat/watered down, but then i just went to the real ale tent near the dirt jumping. i think the issue was, because of all the trouble theyve had over the last few years, they had to go a little ott withe verything as the owners of the showground arent/werent sure if they were going to let the festival be held there again. hopefully they will and it will be a bit more relaxed. what gets me is why do they have all the trouble there, but you go to reading or glasto or something else and you dont get anything.......
