toxicturky
hey, would anybody know the thickness of a shimano disc and if there is a disc with a diameter that would work with an avid juicy 3, guessing the thickness wont matter too much, i think i could get it to work but just checking on here to see if anyone has had any problems doing somthing similar.cheersMark
N.Wood
Should be fine, the only real difference in thickness I've come across is the oem Avid BB7 ones compared to Hope and the like, the Avids being slightly thinner. This is, (I presume), because of the single sided design of the BB calipers, so the disk will bend to the side easier making it easier on the lever. However I've swapped to and from Hope to Avids on my BB7 and noticed no descernable difference
Tomm
You're right, the thickness won't matter. The pads adjust themselves for wear which will account for a slightly thicker disc. The diameter is anyone's guess - it depends what adapter you have for your bike. Probably 160 for XC though.
