Alex Dark
i ran manitou six-sports on my trek for a while...and quite liked it...to be honest theres no real advantage; however i could see a point if you rode a 24"...a set of lightweight 24" compatible forks are about the same length as some 26" rigid forks, so would get the geo spot on...n fact..i think i may do that... Marino bikes + geo of an inspired + z1 bombers = sweet ass street/trials bike
steve@banbury-trials
on the atomlab website there are forks that are like 60mm travel and are apparently very stiff.i would be interested to see these on a 24" trials bike sometime.steve
tris
ive got a 24" onza zoot. with standard 24" forks. i always liked sus forks but now im used to not having them.surely having 26" forks on a 24" will mess up the geo!!!! if its sold with 24" forks why would putting 26" ones on correct it??having sus forks does help when droping of stuff. especially when you wheeling exit something, with rigid forks its really harsh when you land, suspension forks are much smoother. Tomm
surely having 26" forks on a 24" will mess up the geo!!!! if its sold with 24" forks why would putting 26" ones on correct it??24" forks are the same as 26" forks. The difference (on some forks) is where the V-brake/magura mounts are. Lengthwise they're the same, and if you're using a disc, you can use any fork with a disc mount. Revolver
I think i'm ryan leech.I do the shoulder thing when I trackstand.anyway, I gapped just short of what I can on my mod on my handsome dog, which albeit is a light frame, (and has liiight sus - Zocch EXR comp) is considerably (x2 - x3) heavier. So there. Why do trials on that bike?Well, because I do, it gives me the option of blasting down stairs (or up), the added ability of bunnyhops, the choice of doing freeride on the same bike, and because of the gears, the ability to go places Now, suspension on an actual trials bike is pointless. It will outweigh the back end.Funny though, my handsome dog is a trials frame. Sort of.
