When i first bought my pc it run quite fast, everything opened up when you clicked on it.

Then it slowly started to get slower and slower until 1 day the mother board decides to die completly!

The mother board got replaced for a new one, but now its started to get slower and slower again, and crash when you clcik on over two things at once and it is getting very anoying!

I am running Norton 360 protection, but i dont think its actually protecting me.

I keep running scans for viruses and it picks nothing up but hwy is my Pc running really crap?

Is there anyway to make it good again, that doesnt involve spending lot of money? I recently renewed my Norton costing £110 for a 2 year supscription.

Thanks.

Remove any norton software. Its the best thing you will ever do for your pc. Install a decent have suite such as Nod32

Bit of a kick in the nuts after £110. Danny's right though, Norton loves to suck up vast quantities of memory. So if your looking for another option I'd look at buying more RAM. An hopefully you won't feel so raped.

I've got Mcafee. Will it run better if I ditch it and go for AVG? I can't shut down Mcafee and it runs pretty dire when playing games.

2.4ghz P4

512mb 133mhz Ram

128mb Geforce 4 GFX card.

EDIT: Trying AVG now.
