1337 Trials
hellooo. Ive done a search for echo 07 rims but only sales threads come up. Im wondering what people think to the echo 07 rear rim?? I know the 06 was was very weak. ~Matty
Muel
The 07 rear rim is widely considered the strongest, most grind holding rim available.A little heavy, but nothing to cry about, only 30g more than a try-all.

Sweet. Well I brought the £75 echo hub built onto the echo rim but ide rather have strength and alittle more weight ~Matty

Muel
try-all = 499gecho= 530g(tartybikes.co.uk)His profile says he rides Mod, so the Echo rim is 31g heavier than the try-All.EDIT: Fast editor! Jason222
Those weights of the echo rims must be off a bit. I have an old one that I grinded twice, my park scale says 880 grams. Got some rear dob rims weighing 560, and meta rim at 740 g.Oh, and echo rims flat spot very easily. Jason222
are you sure ur using the 07s? the newer models... because i have tried very hard to flat spot mine.. and its not happening..Yeah, I rode an 07 rim for 4 months, it's got tones of flat spots in it. I didn't really beat it that hard either.
TheChai
lol.. i really dont know then.. i am on both 20 and 26.. have absolutely shit tires on the 26, and do do fairly big gaps etc.. maybe ur tires are too soft? i am not sure.. i am still kinda unsure if u have the newest ones though. but if u only got them 4 months ago, they really should be
Jason222
I'm riding dob rims right now. I find they're harder to flat spot than echo rims, but will warp side to side easier.
Greetings
try-all = 701 gecho= 820 gThe weight of trials rims is really puzzling. I weighed a few Echos, the heaviest was 899g and the lightest was 850-something.Tryalls weigh between 690-800g (from my experience at least). Why this should be I have no idea, but it's pretty awkward since you'd think they're made to a certain standard. TheChai
hehe interesting, i am getting dob's soon, i am certain though that these echos have been the strongest i have had ever.. designed for the likes of neil T and criag lee.. Probably why i am finding it impossible to even get them buckled..

And how are they with grinding?/Chrille

Muel
good rims actually, dont grind that well though apparentlyYeh I heard the same, pretty strong, ish. Like a try-all/monty. But it don't grind well at all.
Jason222
Not grinding well is an understatement...lolThe grind is nice when it's fresh, lasts for about 4 full days of riding and then it's pretty dull. haha. I use lots of tar...They'd be great for anyone that runs smooth rim or disc, or possibly grinded for comp use?
