cox.
Well i brought my Zoo python in the 07'summer and it came with an echo team boster on a viz rim with a grrind and snowys they were good pads i guess, they held a fair bit and didnt have to much sound i brought some zoo pads aswell not to good neither. In the winter i brought myself a try-all rim (smooth) and got myself a new set of old zoo pads, they was the same as the other pads bit on the down side to what everyone said about them.So then i heard about the 'Plaz pads'. Got myself a set of them, they were better then the other pads, they held and had a bit of sound. Put some tar on the rim mad a bit of an improvement. And then yesterday riding i got a bit bored at our 'lunch break' and i took my brake boster off for the first time since.. last year? I was using the plaz pads..still. and there are like WOOW , loud , hold , bite. there amazing. So i waited about 7/8 mounths for a good break, just becuase of my brake boster, i spose it is worth the wait. I recomend anyone out there using a brake boster on to.. take it off you might be suprised. Hope this may help some of you. The Duck
Riiiight. That doesn't actually make any sence. Increased noise - yes, thats a well known fact about boosters reducing noise. Better brake? Find that hard to believe, more likely it wasn't set up properly/well.

Better brake? Find that hard to believe, more likely it wasn't set up properly/well.I've said it before a few times. Removing a booster (depending on the pads, frame and booster) can increae noise AND performance. It'll bite quicker and hold a bit better. Though this obviously depends on the setup, if you've got a crap brake and your running a booster, try it without. You'd be suprised. Muel
It does work, when I put a booster on my brothers bike, the performance did drop slightly, and the noise definately lessened, (good thing), but the amount of flex on his frame made it worth while. Andeee
I dont no who to put this but someone will get what i mean. I know your gonna get a quick bite without a booster but every time your pads push against your rim this will be causing flexing to the frame and your cylinders will be moving further away from the rim. If your pads catch on your booster and your feeling asif your not getting enough power trying grinding the inner section of the booster its what i did made my brake better. Muel
Sometimes.....On a T-Lite frame, much needed. I got one for my Zona, it was pointless, I prefer having a little bit of sponge in there, on the zona it was like having metal pads.EDIT: Not just backings, like the whole pad. Callum-Luvs-Trials
Ok i've got a Try-all 2-bolt booster sat in my room and i'm going to stick it on my Ko-bike tomorrow to see if it actually make any diffrence. My brake at the moment does have abit of flex in the lever and good hold but not so much bite. Will get back to you people tomorrow about it. Danny Kearns
but every time your pads push against your rim this will be causing flexing to the frame and your cylinders will be moving further away from the rim.How can you even remotely say thats true ? If your bolts are tight then how can they move, if that was the case, Magura's would be supplied with 4 bolt boosters.

Fishy
They are only saying in some instances that it makes your brake better. I use a booster and my brake holds mint.
Muel
On me brothers bike, it bites and holds better without the booster, but the frame flex is so bad that when you try and let the brake off quickly, it drags unless you fully extend your finger. Muel
or not. Try plaz pads on a smooth rim or a grind, that should make your mind up No thanks, I have a top spec maggy on my brothers bike, and I hate it. Bites like mad, holds like mad and makes all the right noises.I had a rear disc on my 06 Echo for 6 months, then bought a new bike with a maggy, which was really good, (apparantly), rode it for 3 weeks and I went back to disc. I just hate maggies, I have tried many different ones, and have now built my brothers up into the best one I have ever used, and it's rubbish.
