Hendrix
Right, I'm not sure if this is the right place to put it, so please please correct me if I'm wrong.Every day in the UK, up to 6 teenagers or young adults (between the ages of 13 and 24) will find out they have cancer that is approximately 2,100 new cases a year. These young people, in the midst of their already difficult journey to adulthood, suddenly find themselves faced with a possible life-threatening illness and very often receiving treatment in inappropriate facilities with inadequate support options. Until the age of 16 a teenager is likely to be treated in a paediatric ward alongside toddlers. If the same teen was diagnosed after turning 16 then they are likely to end up in an adult ward with elderly patients. Many must put life on hold, just as it is starting to take off.I know a majority of you on the forum are teenagers, so you must know what it's like growing up (If that doesn't sound really bad and corny). Most people know at least one person in their life who has been diagnosed, so if it has, you may be able to relate. Now onto the fund-raising ;Ford have teamed up with TCT (Teenage Cancer Trust) to do a UK Tour with the "Ford Car Parts Orchestra". We're currently in London.Where in London? The Hospital, Endell Street, Covent Garden (Possibly one of the nicest private clubs in London.)What Time? 1.15 and 5.15 Performances (You can have a look around the instruments and have a talk to any of the Musicians, Builders or Team from 1.15 onwards.)What will you see? A large majority of the Ford Orchestra on display, and some up performing. Not to mention a good atmosphere and some good music being played throughout. It is Free entry, but donations would be great!Last night was the launch party for London, which as you can assume had a few major names dropping in.Never the less, please please come along and support the trust as without the public it wouldn't be where it is now!Tom.edit : By last night, I actually meant tonight, but it already seems like a new day Sorry.
