GaZaa
I bought a Tomtom GO 520 over the weekend and the unit itself is great. Unfortunately however, when I connect it to the computer and load the software it just goes tits up, it will install one thing onto the unit and then the computer software just gives up. Is there any reason for this? My computer is usually pretty reliable and am interested whether anybody else has had any similar issues. Its the latest version of the software (HOME 2.2) but its really getting on my tits. Are there any more stable versions available for use anywhere or any solutions to the issue. My computer is pretty standard fare, Windows XP Home all nicely up to date with the service packs and all that etc etcCheers in advance anyway

Jonny Jones
Yeah id like to know as well, Home always crashes, and wont load any updates. Shame theres so much crap to go with such a great device.
GaZaa
I just did a restore back to the what I had backed it up to yesterday and it seemed to be fine and running really well.Although then when I disconnected and started it by itself it said the voice I had set up was unavailable. Then plugged it back in and went back to square 1. Pain in the arse it is but I'm sure I'll eventually get my head round it. Im a complete noob with this tomtom business. There seems to be some kind of conflict between how HOME wants it to work and how the unit wants itself to work. I shall leave it for a while before I attempt to update anything else with it.Cheers
Jonny Jones
Yeah tis gay. Ive pretty much given up on updating my 720. Only the QuickGPS fixes/updates seem to actually update. One thing I do do however is backup all the stuff on the TomTom whenever I connect it to the computer. Simple copy and paste into a 'tomtom backup' folder on my desktop. Saves anything bad happening if you happen to update something that tomtom itself doesn't life and refuses to boot up.
