banashapan
Ah, so you have moved from the dark side . . . lolEasiest way is to use a single speed chain tensioner - http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/category.php?id=48Take your mech off, and remove the gear shifter on you handle bar, also removing the cables of course.Fit the tensioner, you will also need to shorten the length of your chain to suit the gear you are wanting to use, try to keep the chain as straight as possible from the cassette to the front ring.Hope this helps Edited April 14, 2008 by banashapan
James Shields
hi and good choice moving to the 26" i tried this not long back and found it a nightmare,my chain kept skipping from 3,4 ect and snapped on eveyride i went on so i bought some new gears and set them back up, i would recommend that you put that bit extra money in and just have the casette removed and go true single speed saves a lot of trouble hope you sort it out

Skoze
Mech , derailleur, same thing. I'd keep it on, just get rid of the other cogs and put some spacers on. It'll keep the chain at a good tension
