Ingram
Hey, my brakes slowly been coming further and further back to the bars until the master piston has come to the end of the barrel. i re bled it this morning (took tpa all the way out, put syringe in slave cylinder, took the syringe out last etc) but when i pull the lever it still just reaches the end of the barrel without hitting the hitting the rims, the pads are close enough. When i bled it the first time this morning, half way through doing it LOADS of air come out, i mean i've bled loads of hs33's before but i know that if there was that much air sitting in the hose the slave cylinders wouldn't move at all.The only thing i can think of it being is a seal in the lever? but i dunno how do u take the slave cylinder out? can you just undo the bleed screw and push it out with a allen key? any help is apreciated, Thanks alot. N Roach
If you want the piston to come out the lever all you have to do is:*Take the lever blade of the lever body*Undo the bleed bolt on the lever body*The Lever piston should pop outTaking the piston out wont solve anything though... Dan6061
Just sounds like you've still got air in the system...Take it all apart, and give it all a good clean. There's I Wiki article (I wrote) explaining how to clean up the Magura cylinder pistons, try doing all that too.Once you're happy with it all being clean, give it all a good bleed, and try again? Shaun H
Something's wrong at the lever I'd say. I had this problem with two pre-05 levers which I'd stripped using nitro-mors (they were gash colours...). They worked fine for a long time after but then started to leak somewhere, needing a bleed every couple of rides and eventually f**king up all together.Take out the piston if you want, but as mentioned there's not a lot you can do. Lithium greasing the seals did nothing to help me when I had the problem... Edited April 13, 2008 by Shaun H
Ingram
couldn't be bothered to take it out in the end, i found a new lever to wack on, the reason i wanted to take it out so i could diagnose the problem to see if the seal is nakered in the lever to see if it is leaking. never the less it fixed it with a new lever.
