froggy
Check that the little cable is plugged in correctly to you mobo it could be clogged with dust (very unlikely though),Control panel > System > Advance > Environment Variables > click New in System Variables and in the Name field type in devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices > put 1 in the variable value field > Ok > Ok > Go back to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices. Scroll down to the USB (if you can't see them it's a hardware problem). Delete everything that comes up there (you will have to reinstall all the drivers again every time you plug a USB device in) Or just buy a USB PCI interface card. Tomm
Knowing what you're like, I imagine your computer is full of viruses and spyware. So that would be my first guess. Try booting into Windows in safe mode and see if anything works then. Otherwise, it'll be a hardware problem and it's not too uncommon. If this is the case, like froggy says, you could buy a PCI USB card, should only be a few quid. How old is the computer?

Tomm
There's not really such a thing as USB drivers. If you've knackered your computer with a virus or spyware or whatever, get that sorted and/or wipe the computer clean. If it's a hardware problem, that won't help, obviously. Davetrials
but the hardware was working fine, then i messed with sumthing in the opening menu *press del to enter setup*and it stoppedall my usb ports just died.
Tomm
but the hardware was working fine, then i messed with sumthing in the opening menu *press del to enter setup*and it stoppedall my usb ports just died. Why didn't you say that before? It's still nothing to do with drivers. Just go back into the menu (*press del to enter setup*) and change it back... If you can't find the exact option for USB, there will probably be a 'restore to default settings' or 'restore failsafe'. Try that.
froggy
As I said before,http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-Ports-USB-2-0-PCI-...1QQcmdZViewItem0.09p and 4 pounds postage, thats the first I found, could pick up for cheaper. Quick delivery and anyone can fit them, simple as.
