Echo-Scott
Oh and i dont trust highland at all with my stuff. they are too expensive aswell. When me and Brodie went down to ask them to take his lockring off they just flat out refused to do it. The guy started jibbering about the crank not being a trials one and was impossible to take the lockring off. I tryed explaining to him we only wanted the ring off but he kept going on about the crank

Bionic Balls
oooo arrr....yes....sorry! i just associate tensile with cranks...i thought you wanted to take the lockring off the insert :$ just keep trying...make sure you're going the right way- it should be that hard..if you have some needlenose pliers, they sometimes work nicely

Muel
Have you got the crank arm in a vice? If so, just keep hitting it, but harder.

Muel
You need to clamp it up to something so it can't move at all, then the shock from the hammer will help to break the bond. Can you G-clamp it to something? Or bolt it?
RossMcd
I think i have just given up I have tried everything and it just isnt coming off.I just dont have the patience Edited April 7, 2008 by RossMcd

If you have a G-Clamp then you could clamp it to a table? I don't know how well it would work.A spoke will just fold, you need a piece of steel rod, and even then I think it would bend too easily.
