MadManMike
What disc brake is it?
Sonny Clarke
It's of a cheap old bike with a front disc called "Solar"
MadManMike
There's your answer then... it's slipping because it's not suitable.Like using a BMX wheel on a mod.
Muel
Put tar on the rotor. Me mate did it for a laugh, he was pleasently surprised with how good it made the brake, not as on/off as you'd imagine.
squeaky
if i was you mate i would save up some money and get a new disk brake or put a rim brake on your bike.
cox.
could be a few things really, may need a re-bleed, new pads? or simply just dirty pads or rotor.just get some kitchen rool, soak with water, rub over disc go foward slowly while pressing brake should get some dirty oil stuff on rotor, clean with kichen rool. then BISH BASH BOSH.that should sort you out Edited April 6, 2008 by coxy (:
Muel
could be a few things really, may need a re-bleed, new pads? or simply just dirty pads or rotor.just get some kitchen rool, soak with water, rub over disc go foward slowly while pressing brake should get some dirty oil stuff on rotor, clean with kichen rool. then BISH BASH BOSH.that should sort you out Boiling water, no soap. Otherwise it will contaminate the pads further.
Alex Dark
boil the pads and rotor...clean at intervals of 5 minutes...sand pads when finished and it should be a bit better...Sounds like the disc brake is pretty poor anyway...you can pick up something along the lines of a hayes mx-2 for pretty cheap now, you'd be best off with one of those
