PaRtZ
I want my 205 1.4 to become more off-roady so im ready for buthiers among other things so I want to raise it. Not by alot mind, talking at most an inch, but the car needs it anyway because the tyres are scraping on the bodywork The back is on torsion bars, and the front is coiled with (i think) machpherson struts. Just wanting to know if anyone can give advice on if its possible to do at home, or if not what cost Im looking atAlso, anyone know where I can buy a replacement carburettor: solex 34 pbisa 16. Im running a bit rich at the moment and its probably due for replacementThanks
BONGO
can't you just put more air in the bottom of the tyres?

Gavyn. Is the car lowered at the moment then or standard height? I thought 205's sat fairly high anyway. you could do some arch work and save having to raise it, unless you're going for that classic 80's rally car look. The only way i've heard of people raising them up is on some small 4x4's they use a spacing block between the spring and the axle, but that only works if you have a non-independent rear axle. I'm guessing the only way to get it up is to get some taller springs and torsion bars. or perhaps just get some stiffer springs and lose some weight. (strip it out) it's sounds costly to me. Danny
If its not lowered and its rubbing it sounds like the suspension is about knackered. A good overhaul will probably return it to a reasonable height.

Radfax
buy some coil overs and wind them all the way out so they are monster truck style? My old coilovers when wound up made my car sit stupidly high!
Will Arnold
either harder springs like le trials punk said or get a lighter engine and as for the torsion bar, as long as the dampers allow, you can rotate the torsion bars relative to the beam!
