Rear Rim- 32 Hole Or 36 Hole?

36 hole is obviously stronger and stiffer, but weighs more.

28 on the front is going to be weaker, but will save a bit of weight. so unless you want to save like 20 grams... get the 32 hole (Y)

I'd go for a 32 hole on the back too because echo 07/try-all/dx32 etc are plenty strong enough in the 32 hole version

32 all the way. 36 hole hubs have the drillings too close together so there's more chance of ripping a spoke out the flange. 32 is the way.

that makes sense, i always thought 36 because of more spoke so stronger wheel in general, but 32 would be lighter

Ah, but if you drill a 36 hole rim it has more holes but has 4 more spokes and nipples. (May also depend upon the diamater of hole you can fit between the spokes).

Also, having extra spoke holes to start with, it should start out as a lighter rim. (And the hub has 4 more holes).

No, I'm not going to go and weigh stuff but Tarty can probably tell you.

I got a 28 hole front wheel and its fine. I built it radial on the non disc side as well and its held up pretty strong. Dinged it a couple of times and it hasn't come out of true yet.

i wanna see this radial thing, iv heard it weekens the hub but looks cool, u got a pic?
