Peperami
Looks like a rohloff but about £40 cheaper... cant be a bad thing. Only question is sturdiness, as rohloffs can take a few bashes without dying...

psycholist
Next question is what chainline is it set for - it doesn't look to be adjustable in any way. Given that it's for running with certain of shimano's geared hubs, it's probably about the same chainline as singlespeed bikes such as BMXes... basher
Silly design as the chainline cant be adjusted and does the spring come round and rest on the tensioner or on the frame somewhere. I cant see it giving amazing tension for that price.

I cant see it giving amazing tension for that price.Looks quite good apart from the fixed chain line.I dont see how price is related to tension or even how lots of tension is a good thing. I see on here all the time people saying they need more tension. All you need is enough to keep the chain slack in check and stop it rattling over the sprockets on big hits. Look at all the people running rear mechs, the spring tension would be equivalent to that Alfine. My current tensioner has the tension of an elastic band. Matthew62
Its a bit obtrusive, think i'd rather a Sora mech, shorter and smaller, and i would imagine even better tension and atleast it is adjustable for those who didn't have as much luck as you with chainline. Same price aswell.
