Radfax
Nice little motor mr songYou dont relly want a restoration forum as they wont go into much detail about what you want to know, you want to get onto a oweners club or somehing similar.I assume you and the welder will be seeing a lot more of each other very soon! Rob Thomson
Can someone recommend me a good car resoration forum?Haha, sorry I just found that amusing...Planning/forward thinking a bit behind?
Gavyn.
Thats a lot of rot, I hope you're handy with a welder. I take it you'll have to fabricate panels or modify non-genuine panels to fit, or is there somewhere you can get them? I might have a project like this lined up soon so i'll be interested to see how this comes along.

Jonny Jones
Can someone recommend me a good car resoration forum?Hi dude. With the highest of due respect, I think you're wasting your time and probably hard earned cash on this project. If I were you just scrap it, and get something slightly more decent to restore. Sorry to piss on your parade. However, if you decide to continue and end up with something resembling rude, I shall apologise for this post EDIT: On second thoughts, to hell with it! The thing has character, knock yourself out haha! Edited April 4, 2008 by Jonny Jones

Radfax
Ignore all of the above comments bumsong, if you have the drive to get it done it will be done! just stick at it, It will just cost a fortune in welding wire and metal! As for pannels get in the yellow pages and find a breaker of the car which you have, i thought the chances of me finding a classic jaguar breakers some where localy would be a imposibility but managed to find one a 15 minute drive away, and they are usually filthy cheap! might look like a shed now but get things on a list, what to do and i what order and itnot seem as such a pile of shit!Sils you can use off of any car, as long as they line up and do the job, I made the sills for my old mini at collage with a spare sheet of metal i had found! The arch on the back of my mates MR2 is a metro arch so as long as it gives you a vauge template which you can work with, use it!i recon you should flip the Axels, Did it to a VW caddy and it dropped it by some thing like 100mm odd. Whats the bed like in the back? Also the floor pannels? Inner wings? around the suspension struts? Does it run? MadManMike
I say go for it too, anyone can buy a Corsa and put cheap Chrome rims on... This is gonna be a one-off beast!I reckon sprayed black, lowered on some deep rims would look sweet. Will take loads of effort, but it'd be well worth it. Like a VW Caddy but even more one-off. Pashley26
Mate, you do know there are only 6 of these in the country !!!! They were featured in the "Rare Breed" feature in February's Practical Classics glossy ?It's a great little project, and Boum' deffinatly gets a hats off from me. If he can pull it off i've got a job waiting for him ! For all you haters.....Go and do something as constructive and motivated as restoring a car instead of piss taking, if you've got the balls to do it ! Fair enough, it's not the most feasible project but it's making him happy and it's what HE wants to do.Good luck Boumsong !
