They look real slick and wireless would be wicked.Couple of queries that I havent been able to find whilst googling..Whats sound quality like over bluetooth? Do you lose substantial quality? Or in fact any at all as Im a bit of a fag when it comes to music sounding ace.Can you still plug regular headphones in if you wish?Does it look slick in real life hahaUmm.. should I buy one?Picture here. Revolver
in the spec it says standard headphones, which suggests it has an ordinary port.I think it looks slick lolBluetooth works well enough for voice and phone, as well as for hi-fis. I imagine the quality is pretty damn good.On the pic you7 posted, if you look where the headphones cross the gadget, on the right side it looks like there\'s a 5mm jack plug.http://sp.sony-europe.com/media/52/25607there, that\'s the answer! Danny
Seen these before but never liked the idea of having batteries in my headphones. Surely they add a lot of weight?
Boswell
Makes the Ipod look like a peace of shit!
Sam Nichols
Seen these before but never liked the idea of having batteries in my headphones. Surely they add a lot of weight?Thats something I hadnt thought of.. I wonder what type of batteries it takes.. Shall investigate now Seen these before but never liked the idea of having batteries in my headphones. Surely they add a lot of weight?Righto, found out they are rechargable headphones that last 11hrs when charged.. good enough for me.They weigh 65grams.. I just wighed my sennheisers, which I wouldnt consider using for say riding etc because they are too heavy, just use them on the PC and they are 211gramsSo by guesstimation i reckon 65grams will feel like nothing...Wow, when I post again it adds it on to my last post.. awesome.Always done this?Spam. TomN
Cool the bluetooth connection could come handy wit my headunit. What's the storage on them bad boys?
Sam Nichols
Yeah i never thought about that! Plus you can get bluetooth speakers i think? Its 8gigs.Not immense ammounts of music, id prefer more BUT it'll do the trick.
Tomm
Makes the Ipod look like a peace of shit! Not really because you can get a 60Gb iPod for the same moneys (instead of the 8Gb Sony)*. Oh, and the Sony one is made by Sony... If you really want to be different, get a Creative, at least they're cheap. Bluetooth would be good, but I'm not convinced it would be that amazing. And you'd have two parts - the player and the headphones - which would be a bit annoying?*EDIT: Actually, I was wrong. The cheapest iPod classic is 80Gb (not 60) and is cheaper than the Sony (£159). Sam Nichols
Irivers are good too, way better sound quality than the Ipods. To be honest its not about being different, I had an Ipod for aaaages before I lost it. Im just not a huge fan. Theyre good enough, look great etc. I just dont like them!As far as cost goes, for me its no object when it comes to buying an MP3 player. I'd pay up to 250/300 for something good.As for the bluetooth, maybe its a bit gimmicky but I love the idea of being able to have the Sony tucked away while im riding, maybe in an enclosed casing and being able to easily listen to the music wirelessly. For travelling and listening any other time than riding I wouldnt be using the bluetooth as my shure in ears would be going to waste.. (I spent way too much money on them :$)
Tomm
Is it just drag and drop? That's the only other thing about Sonys - they used to force you to use their own software (yes, I know iTunes does that) and use their own compression (I.e. it doesn't play MP3s). But I think they've sorted that now? It does look quite pimp, but it's like the bluetooth is the only reason it's £160 and not £80. P.S. Are you sure you don't have a phone that will do A2DP or whatever it's called? 8Gb memory card + some BT headphones = cheaper.
Sam Nichols
Well according to the site.. " Plays most popular music formats: mp3, AAC (non DRM), L-PCM and WMA (DRM) " and " Transfer video and music from your collection via simple drag-and-drop, Windows Media Player or Sony's easy to use Media Manager "But im going to try and find out what this means exactly because drag and drop is all well and good.. but it sounds like its drag and drop within the media player / media manager interface.. Which isnt really drag and drop at all!Im wondering if you might be right though.. I guess the thing i really need to decide is how much I really want bluetooth. It would be awesome to have bluetooth speakers in my bedroom that run off the Sony and also getting a bluetooth headunit in my car.BUTthe more i think about it.. the more i wonder if i'll actually bother!
