The HSBC thingy doesn't like it when you use your card at certain hours. It's a lame secrity thing, basicly saying "WTF this card is brittish and it's been used at 4am, there's something fishy going 'ere he should be in bed!".

All you can do is phone them in the morning and they'll put it through stright away.

(PS. It's happend to me befor, twice.)

I wouldn't call it lame to be honest, just means the security is higher than most other online shopping systems (Y)

Sorted it now Adam. Not sure who i spoke to on the phone, think It was Ali c. But yeah, all good.

Good sutff - yeah t'was Ali I think (Y)

i had it once when i accidentally had slightly different card and shipping address. But a 5 min call later and everything was sorted out, really no problem (Y)

Yeah - the HSBC system matches the exact house number and the postcode to the card details, another security measure. So, even if someone does have your card details, they would also need your address before they could order using it.

:(

Danny.

I've had it 4 times, means i can't order from them anymore as nothing goes through...

Last time I called up and got it confirmed the item never arrived, so i cried and gave up...

Boo

EDIT: This isn't a rage at tarty if anyone thinks that, I just hate technology as it works and then cocks itself in 90% of cases!

Hey Rob,

Very strange - please drop me a line/your phone number, I'd like to get this cleared up. Everyone should be able to order from us with no problems...

Cheers

In ordering from Ireland I run into an even weirder problem. I think it's a yahoo based paying thingie you need to pay online, but yahoo won't allow me to register as even though it changes to yahoo.ie for the registration it's still looking for a post code (Ireland outside Dublin doesn't have post codes at all), and nothing I've found to put in the postcode box will placate it so far. Since the postage isn't automatically calculated for outside the UK I have to ring anyway to get postage quoted, so not a big deal at all, just more technology not quite working correctly :). For the tartybikes employees reading this - thanks again for the Echo Control - that bike has improved me more in the past 3 months than I improved in the year before that :).
