Street On A Python... Real Street (bmxy Stuff)

Just wondered about this for a while if anyone's been able to decently pull off street on a long python. I see riders like marco groesnik in those latest german vids doing stuff like huge bunnyhops, snappy spins, tweaks, box jumps, manuals and all that. I realise the bike he uses (Hydroxx and Hoesel XTP) are quite short, but still does anyone pull this stuff on a python?

My definition and the real definition for 'street' for RIDING as a whole (unicycle and mountain bike recognise this as well) is stuff like what BMX does. What we're doign with normal trials (sidehops, gaps, drops) in town and stuff is better classified as URBAN riding, rather than street.

So yeah, i don't really couldn't care less if someone says :"oh pythons are for TGS, if u wanna do street just get a shorter bike". No thats not my question, i'm after any vids of people doing the 24" or BMX style on a Python. nothing more nothing less. Are any people well known for doing streety street on long mods?

cheers

:)

I don't think too many people are going to coment on this :giggle:

I have personally never seen or heard anyone doing 'proper street' on a python, if people did it would more than likely be on the 1030's.

Can I ask why? Are you getting a python, but you fancy a bit of street too?

that vid was quite cool. liked the spinny combos on the czar. Yeah the thing is though that on a Zona and Czar its different because the stays are shorter than on a Python, albeit by 5-10mm or so, it makes all that difference.

Pythons are notorious for being excessively long and barge-like, so i was wondering if people who rode specifically those frames could pull off those kinds of spinny things well.

dan what geo stem you running on your Zona? is it the old geo echo team stem before they chagned it to 160x25? any spacers?

Absolute BEAST video.

I'm genuinely blown away by that video, music was f**king immense and the riding was at such a high level, thanks so much for sharing :)

On topic, I would think you should be able to do streety moves on a zoo, all depends on the set up you choose. I would look at something like monty bar and a high stem as I think this would help with bunny hops and other 'streety' moves. Another idea is to look at the shorter frames, maybe a python is the only option, but is it the shorter length the frame is available in??? If not maybe look at one of the Monty frames, short koxx levelboss or a dob frame??

Learn the moves on a bmx first, and then when you are confident and have the correct technique, you should be able to do it on any bike.

Edit: I realise I went off on one, and completely missed the point of your post :$

Hope someone else can help better!!!

I do spins and manuals on my long python quite a lot, seems fine for them to me, I've managed to land a 360 off a little grass bank on it before too. Must admit it was easier to manual before I changed my forks from try-all to echo urbans, but all the same moves are still pretty easily done.

Absolute BEAST video.

Just an absolutley mind blowing video, the riding was of a great level, music suited the rideing, and I loved how he incorperated the bails and stacks in the video, It was definitely great, as it was a long video and normally I would have got bored and skipped to the end but that I watched the whole way through. I loved how he tryed to front flip onto his bike - legend!

on topic, I used to do most aspects of trials when I had my zona which is similar to pythons I spose, But I found that it was quite hard to manual - mainly as its long, moved onto my 04 python copy and that was great to manual, as it was shorter.

I had a 07 python schlong and to be fair i never really tried streety moves on it but i dont think it would be very easy as it were soooooper long! so maybe try a short mod? maybe even look at a megamo? ive herd they've got a streety feel, there was one on here a month or two back... JonMacks?

Haha i said in my first post I wasn't really after recommendations to see shorter mods do that stuff, cos i know its doable on them. No, i dont want to get anything, i just want to see if 24" and BMX style has been done on a long python. the whole point of this topic is to see if people can do it on the longest mod.

so c'mon, i bet there is some crazy russian or east european dude who can do 360 bmx style bunnies, manuals on a python. Id love to see how Marco Groesnik gets on with a python.

Intresting.

That video though was really good. But still not quite what you were after?

I think you need to ride the same bike for a long time before you can really figure out what's cable of it. I've done a few things on my trials bikes. Done some stuff down the local park as well. But it'll be intresting finding out what i can do on a high bb bike.

that was sick, but still not totally impressed.. someone do it on a Python! reason i specifically want to see it done on a long python is because it's dammmn long. Doing it on a 'long' Echo, Czar, GU, Adamant, Onza, Koxx, whatever... isn't the same because they aren't as long. Whole point is to see someone do it on the hardest mod possible :)
