andygall157
Hi all,I've just started getting back into trials riding after being away from the sport for about 2 1/2-3 years. At the time back then i used an IRC EL GATO rear tyre as they seemed to be the best compromise for weight/ puncture resistance! Can you guys give me some idea of what rear tyre your using taking in the weight/puncture ressitance factor? Thanks in advance for any helpful info.RegardsAndy. forteh
Maxxis high rollers are a popular choice, believe the tryalls are also very good but much softer and wear out quickly.Cant go much wrong with the maxxis though, Ive had a 60a (hardest compound) on the back for the last couple of years and its still probably got a 1/4 life in it. Will probably go for one os the softer compounds next though
Ben John-Hynes
The "Try-All Stiky" is a good choice,VERY grippy and good pinch prevention!Heavy, mind!
steve@banbury-trials
i highly rate hansventre tires, they have two compounds and are very grippy and have a good wear rate, you could find them at tartybikes butthey have gone now,im sure if you googled then you'll find these tires.steve
eskimo
Maxxis 2.5" High Roller Super Tacky is the tyre of choice for stock riders on here. Alternately 2.3", Minion or Slow Reezy.I wouldn't even consider using an El Gato on a trials bike now. Your also be impressed with the pinch resistance of a Dual Ply Maxxis. Unlike the El Gato where any 'rim out' results in a puncture.

Peperami
Tryalls front and rear at the moment (2.0 and 2.5). Or tryall front and high roller rear is a good choice too.
