nc7r
We have a sign out back saying "All staff must come in 5 mins befor work to sign in and check the float". So we can check it, but this is pointless becuase we can't check it afterwards unless we stay behind untill 15 mins after we close. Which i'm not prepared to do.Looks like you're losing £5 odd not staying that extra 15 mins then...
dan_addison
If its in your contract, its in your contract. You could try talking to your boss is he/she is sound then the might be something you could do.But at the end of the day its a fiver, not a great ammount in the longscale of things

trials rules
You say if it's down by £5, you have to pay it. Therefore if it's down by £4.99 you shouldn't have to? Surely its not fair that, dependant on a couple of pence you would either hav to pay a fiver or nothing?Read your contract reeeeally carefully and see if you can wangle it so you only have to pay back the 69 pence because if you hadn't gone over by that much, you wouldn't have to pay a penny. Elmo =)
I'll have to ask my manager about what your on about tomturd. I don't mind comming in a few mins early if i get paid for it.My work does overtime in 15 minute slots. Like today i stayed behind an extra 7mins because my boss was being a twat and putting customers on my till when i was shut (becuase a lot of us leave at 7) Smile Be nice, then sit up stairs with a cuppa tea for 8mins, and then claim overtime happy days, dont forget 15mins work is like, 1.80ish
fruitbat
its in your contract. . . There is nothing you can do.About you not having time to cash up . . . I'm sure theres something somewhere legally that says employers can keep staff up to 15 minutes after their shift without pay . . Anything after that they must pay in 15 or 30 min slots . . Can't remember the exact words of it but thats the basic of it! If you try say you didn't get time to count till they'll probably throw that back at you.Just pay the fiver and have done with it Edited March 29, 2008 by fruitbat
JonMack
Yeh I'd say stop being a tight ass, pay it, and then start hanging out after work to make sure it's cashed up properly.
