Max Quinn
Yer i'd still go with BMX if i were you. I know my opinions slightly biased but i have alot of friends who ride street mountainbike so know a fair bit about that scene- it just hinders their riding on street (well, if you wanna ride BMXey style street which it sounds like you do). Dirt i find it easier to huck a jump and get over it on a mountainbike but thats cos you can be sketch and get away with it- hence making most of them look like sketchy, unstylish idiots Truth. I was largely joking about the brakes thing, but that Fit's a damn good buy. Get a U-brake plate and you'd be set if you wanted to bang a brake on to get some control up first.Fairs, has it got lugs though? I know someone whos got one and would say its the nicest of the fit completes if you can get a brake on it (or are set you don't wanna ride one)
Mark W
It's got a hole in seat-stay bridge so you can run a caliper brake 'cos it has to by law, but you could get a U-brake plate and bang a U-brake on there. It wouldn't be ideal, but it'd teach you not to become too dependent on 'em whilst still retaining some control.
Lawnmowerman
Buy my dmr transition mate. £450 with shit loads of spares and it's in mint condition with marzocchi, hope, halo, hayes, raceface, fsa and middleburn etc.
Tomm
I totally agree about BMXs for street. I always think MTB street looks completely lame. But for dirt, I dunno. I just feel a lot more comfortable on a bigger bike. Anyway, I'm all about Slopestyle these days
