Token
nope, don't think they did. Joking aside, i was just summing up the facts of it and how much effort it's gonna take.what i didn't say was HOW TOTALLY RAD IT WOULD BE! Which is; VERY.My bad, got the wrong impression from the RWD car on the youtube vid on page 1. Totally different car?
matt_urban
If you plan on driving it you need to get a lot of money ! if you want to just stick a engine in it and get it to run and drive you will need lots of money !can you see a theme coming along im a car mechanic/welder by trade and i would struggle to get that car on the road
fredrico
Right, with the engine conversion its going to be highly gay for a 3 main reasons:1. The cars not designed for a quick engine.2. The cars not designed for a quick engine.3. The cars not designed for a quick engine.Thats a shit excuse not to, that V8 fiat isnt designed for a V8, theres the 3.0 v6 nova and many others, but the are all cool because of the engine and are not hated just because their shit cars to start with. Joe Sheehan! Personally i think its a brilliant idea. However the "gay" was reffering to the difficulty of said idea.
Pashley26
As i've said several times. That car has a CHASSIS. the body provides no structural support, So it WILL go through an MOT as long as the Chassis and Body mounting points are solid. (and a few other little bits, like no sharp pretuding edges, and obviously it needs to go stop and have working lights !)I'd leave it as it is body wise ? Just weld up the chassis It'd be the bollocks. As for the engine - It's a piece of piss to take that engine out. It's based on the triumph 1850 (as in dolomites), wich is also the same engine as the saab 900 turbo's (like mine) So you *could* drop a 200+ brake saab 900 turbo lump with various abbot tuning bits on it. Use all the same front end (FWD i know but Meh') just drop the whole feckin' lot in there !!! Shocks', brakes, driveshafts, gearbox THE WHOLE LOT !!!!!! They can't fail an MOT on how for out the wheels poke out now so get some bitchin' ats cups or starmag's and cut the springs It's a beam axle on the back so just twist the torsion bar in until it's SLAMMED. Whack the back axle on off the saab 900 Turbo too (if your feeling brave !), but get a Front wheel handbrake car so all you need to do is bole it in and make some brake lines. So you can GOOOOOO stop and still look rat rod cool Job done.It is basicly a licensed copy of the Fiat 125, using the same running gear and with a cheaply made triumph based fiat 1850 engine. Look for spares for a Fiat 125 and you'll find everything for them. It IS Rwd Edited March 28, 2008 by ✠Pashley26✠
