I ran a mint vee set up, had loads of hold as I could hang on the edges of ledges :giggle: and still carry on, but I didnt feel safe though as it didnt make a noise. I HAVE to have a noise when I have a good brake set up as it lets me no my brakes are working.

same, this is whats pushing me back to a maggie

i think the parts your using will be a big part of the problem but you also want to make sure your setup is as perfect as it can be, the parts your using are only as good as youve got them set up.....

why do you need a noise to tell you your brake is working or that you've made a move. surely it should be done on feeling. my rear disc makes no noise at all but i know when its holding, if its going to hold and when ive made a move.

ive just got a v setup, lil bit better than yours, but from what ive heard it should be as good as a disc in bite but with the hold of a maggy, but still with some modulation as im running a smooth rim.

avid lever

wethepeople linear slic cable

zhi adaptors

avid ultimate arms

heatsink cnc backings

heatsink red pads (soon to be rimjam reds)

salsa carbon booster

if that doesnt work then im sticking with disc

why should i have to grind my rim to make my brake work!
