Dan6061
How much you got?A Canon 1D Mk III would be amazing for trials shots, but they're about a grand I think. If you want a compact, then have a look at the higher Fuji cameras, like the S7500, etc. They have pretty good image quality, and can film too! Krisboats
i could probably get about £200 for a good camera but i dont know what 2 get.A digital SLR would be best for geting an action shot, but it won't take videos so you'd need a seperate camcorder. rob c
As said before a Digital SLR would be ideal, and pictures are awesome!! But they are more expensive, could probably pick one up on ebay for around £200 or so, but to be honest the best bet would be a decent compact camera... I used a Fuji S5600 and i was very impressed with the quality and everything about it to be honest!! I think you can pick them up for around the £150-200 mark... Also to be honest its not always the camera that makes the picture, its the person taking the picture... I used to use a cheapy digital Click Click to do my work and those pictures are what got me a job as a photograper... Now i use SLR but its just sooo much kit and expense, even now i consider going back to a compact!!

Gandalf the Yellow
try the canon powershot S-series, from S2 onwards are real decent, apparently they're 'pro-sumer' cameras so you have a lot of functions and adjust ability for shots. quality is alright and the latest version even come with a hot shoe mount for extra flash. as well as other accessories such as tele-lens and wide angles.as for video quality-mint, definately tv quality with surround sound recording on the highest setting (640x480).adjustable digital viewfinder as well for awkward positions. its real handyi'd recommend that especially i've heard them going for well cheap.steve

Sam-Addy A3
Hi, as stated before, a Digital SLR (DSLR) will take amazing action shots.I recommend the Nikon D40, that is what i use and is absolutely fantastic, but don't be put off by the fact it is only 6 mega pixels, its the lense that determines the quality of the photo e.g. colour, sharpness etc. Unless you want to blow the photo up to bigger than A3 size then 6 mega pixels is MORE than enoughSam Edited March 24, 2008 by spam-trials
maxwellduryea
i think one of the best bodies ive had is Canons Mark I 1D. Its 4.15MP but is truly a machine. 45pt focus, 1.3x crop factor, 8.5 frames per second....only downside to that camera is you cant zoom in on the screen to see if it was sharp or not. but hey, do it right, get it sharp the first time!the new canon rebel (not sure whats the name) its a pretty sweet body as well. or the canon 40D.are you buying used or new? how muc to spend on body and lens?
