Ben H!
hi there everyone i am currently running 18:12 at the minute and i am finding it difficult to wheelie with it, by changing the rear to a 13t will it make it easier or harder to do thanks
monkeyseemonkeydo
To be honest, if you can't wheelie with an 18/12 setup you need to change your technique rather than the gearing. A 13T on the back would make the gearing easier (and easier to lift the front wheel) but you'll probably end up having problems with chain length/tension etc and really isn't worth the hassle. Change your technique.I ride experts in comps and i still cant wheel more than a few yards. Ive never practiced or learnt it as ive never used it. Ben John-Hynes
Don't wheelie and practice Trials instead.
Ben H!
Don't wheelie and practice Trials instead.that's what i mean like instead of hopping all the time you sort of have to wheelie but using the rear brake
Ladd
18:12 is easy enough just keep using 18,12 or try 18:

cai
18:13 will lighter gear than 18:12, which if you think your current gear is to high for you then by all means switch it.But if its a simple case of 'I can't wheelie very far' than don't bother. I can't wheelie, the move is pointless to trials! If you want to look cool by balencing on your back wheel - learn to manual
