spartan
Hey guys, I just got my new nemesis project handlebars. They are 22.4mm in diameter. My stem is 25.4mm so there for i have to use a shim.I was wondering, when i have the bars clamped in the stem fairly tight a bit of light still shows through meaning there is a gap between the shim and the bar and the stem. The bars feel solid and i think the stem is tighted so is this normal or should i get it checked out?thanksian

Luke Rainbird
BMX size, if I remember rightly (or one variant of...)Near enough the same diameter as used for the grip area, so they can make them from one single-diameter piece of tubingHow do you mean there's light showing through? Quick paint diagram wouldn't go amiss

spartan
KK i think i got the problem solved. The reason its really small is because its bmx sized and meant for the proprietary stem. The problem was that there was a space between the bar and stem after it was all tightened up.So i just took one of the 2 shims out and it looks like its seated way better and the bars dont move at all.
