Tamness™
I have a set of creative surround sound speakers but I can't seem to get any sound out of the center speaker or the rear speakers. I think the problem could be that my sound card doesnt support surround sound ( sound card: Microsoft UAA Function Driver for High Definition Audio - Adi 1986). If the sound card is the problem is there any way to fix this or do I need a new sound card?
ZeroMatt
You have the correct setup cable and card wise? If you are using a normal output jack for surround sound that will explain all issues as they only support a max of 2.1 systems
Tamness™
I dont think I have the right ports on my sound card. It has two emitting ports and one with the picture of a microphone.
Danny
If your soundcard supports 5.1 it will usually have 5 jacks on the backFront SpeakersRear SpeakersCenter/SubLine-InMicIf its only got 3 then it probably wont support 5.1. Tamness™
So I need a new sound card. Can anyone recommend one that is easy to fit and isnt too pricey, or one that is external?

Hendrix
I use a firewire external sound card. I set what sounds I want to come out of where (a.k.a - standard 5.1 - non standard 5.1 - random as heck)They're about £300, but an amazing piece of kit. You can literally have as many speakers as you want on it too
