JD™
In other news, the bookies are saying that the track is likely to be below the sky tomorrow, and that Barcelona will still be in Spain.

Rusevelt
Arguably the best on-board pole position lap I have seen for a long time. For a moment when Vettel hit the wall with his left front and rear, I thought the pole was over, but he still continued to push right on the limit. Rusevelt
Wasn't expecting the 2018 cars to be that much quicker even with the halo
monkeyseemonkeydo
What are they thinking putting the cameras in the same place as pre-halo?! I assumed they'd embed them in the Halo itself. Jeez, Hamilton totally obliterated them all!
Duncy H
Watching Hamilton’s lap develop was great, you could tell he was enjoying pushing the limit and hooked it all up for that lap. Kimi in the press conference after

Rusevelt
Never really appreciated just fast these cars are until I saw this clip. They sound pretty good also.
Rusevelt
One of the best races to date.
Duncy H
I thought it was a brilliant race, I think this season has been brilliant so far too. Love Danny Ric too he’s like a breathe of fresh air for F1 when he’s smiling and joking around. I still think the Mercedes is the fastest car underneath and is capable of winning a bunch of races this year.
Tony Harrison
https://www.formula1.com/en/championship/races/2018/Azerbaijan/Timetable.html Are these the local circuit times, or does it adjust for where I'm viewing the webpage? Mark W
Pretty sure they're local - it says FP1 was 1pm-2:30pm, but I watched it earlier on today.
Mark W
Yeah, definitely local - FP2 is on now and the F1 site says "17:00".

Rusevelt
Baku Azerbaijan might be a boring circuit, but the race itself was anything but boring. Gutted for Bottas having a certain win snatched from him near the end. As for the two flying bulls! JD™
Paul Di Resta on the Sky commentary about halfway through (paraphrased): “They’ll probably just retire Alonso soon as he’s looking like having no chance of points” He was P12 at the time, the Red Bulls were playing a game that was clearly going to end in tears, and Grosjean was still in the race. Quality insight there PDR! Another double points finish, us McLaren fans might still be a long way from celebrating a win or championship contention, but an improvement is great to see. Mark W
The biggest thing about RoGro putting it in the wall wasn't him blaming Ericcson like a bitch, or him shortening the last stint of the race, it was absolutely f**king my GP Predictor - I had him down for most overtakes after an inspired pre-qualifying choice, and then he put it in the f**king wall. Goes without saying that the Red Bulls didn't exactly help things on that front either... Good race to watch though, quite interesting throughout. Some proper dicing going on, with most driving well most of the time. Amazing job by Alonso to actually get that car back to the pits! Didn't think he was going to be able to turn it left into the box when he biffed the pit wall on the way in.
Tony Harrison
Yeah that was a real achievement. I was watching in a bar and they managed to dick the feed to the screen with about 7 laps left, got it back for last 2 though. Still I did have the satisfaction of clapping Hamilton over the line in a bar full of Germans.
Mark W
Hadn't quite realised how hard Magnussen f**ked Gasly. Apparently he couldn't see in his mirrors because they were vibrating so much so didn't know Gasly was there, although before the second squeeze on the onboard from Magnussen you can clearly see him looking in the mirrors. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2018/4/video-f1-gasly-magnussen-dangerous-azerbaijan.html

Mark W
That race was much better than I expected it to be! Assumed the Ferraris would just disappear off into the sunset and then it'd just be each time in line astern, but that was an interesting watch.
