I would say this, but I genuinely think that the more modern bash enhances the Zero's looks. The fact that it doesn't look out of place with a more modern spec is credit to the timeless nature of the frame. I've always wanted one of those frames, but I'll settle for helping bling one up!

I like the thought of someone going back in time with a stack of modern components and pimping up an old school ride (Y)

Is there anything clever that can be done to replace the zip ties on the top tube?

Yeah, but you're only saying that because you made the bash. :P

Don't get me wrong, the bash looks awesome. Just saying it's a bit 'newskool' compared to everything else on the bike (apart from the bars.)

Oh, instead of zip ties, just wrap the hose around the toptube? I used to do it on my Zona when i ran outa zip ties.. (Y)

I don't actualy think that bash looks newstyle ?

I couldnt imagine a bike of any age/size that wouldnt look good with one on ?

Lovely looking orange mate, building mine up when I get home and I can't wait to ride it again.

Steve on the cable guide front I managed to get my hands on some of these, they have a sticky backing which you peel off and attach to the frame. Got a couple on my black zero and they look ace.

I used to KILL the disc mounts on those things. So be careful with those - keep an eye out for cracks. I pulled the rear end off a couple of them.

This made a big difference, but eventually the disc tabs came off. I then had the whole tab section re-welded and it was lovely. Sprayed it up blue too. Although I then stripped the BB thread and gave up on it...
