craigjames
you want to sell something, you do a quick search in the wanted section, you find someone wants what youve got. Bam youve sold it and one less topic cluttering up an already very busy section. from using other forums who already have this set up it does make life a whole lot easier.a yes vote form me. Luke Rainbird
Is there an eBay style feature available for IPB, or something similar? even without bidding or similar so as to not time out the sales perhaps?I guess just a general format for threads to follow would help solve a lot of issues, featuring such options (which would be compulsory) as "FS/WTD/Swap" etc
Rich J
How about a wanted, a swaps, and then a full bike sale section and a parts section. That way you wont get bothered by people constantly asking about splitting of full bikes. People can look in swaps if they want. And if you do have old parts you wanna shift look in wanted.Yes from me
tomturd
Is there an eBay style feature available for IPB, or something similar? even without bidding or similar so as to not time out the sales perhaps? There is, but it costs about $500 I think, and the company who make it are idiots it seems. Maybe I'll have a crack at one once TrialsTube is finished and after I've written my own feedback system (which should only take about 2 days). Gavyn.
it's a great idea. Split it up. People will use the wanted forums because sellers can just use the search to find wanted topics for the parts they've got. it'll make life easier for everyone exept you guys

Rich J
Waaaaaay too many sections...Ok point taken. But maybe a sub section for parts and bikes for sale would help too.
Mark W
I just don't really think there's much need for it. There's never really that many full bike sales, it's usually parts, so it just seems like they may as well go into the "FS" section, 'cos that's what they are? Simpson
IMO, splitting into wanted and f/s isn't what needs doingMaybe sub-categorys like-Off TopicComplete BikesFramesControlsOr something, becuase if you want something its a pain in the bum to trawl through all the other stuff. There arn't that many wanted topics anyway

Simpson
And there's always the search function?Yea ive never had a problem finding stuff, most WTD threads, people dont find what they need, becuase most people just use the search and find stuff Edited March 14, 2008 by Simpsonman =)
Ash-Kennard
no...and what about swaps, or people who want to buy and sell in the same thread?
JT!
Its been suggested in the TF ideas thread. One of my ideas been taken seriously. My topic that i am constantly bumping made it to page 5 (just) in 24 hours, that's a lot of topics being bump in 24 hours, it's way over used.I fully agree with the mods and admin with the whole dozens of subforums, but by spiltting it up into two would pretty much get rid of the whole lableing system which no one uses, even some SM don't use it corectly.I can understand how it might seem like they 'cancel each other out'. But like has been said, some poeple have items that they can't be arsed to make a topic, haven't got round to it, or maybe they didn't actually want to sell untill they found out someone wanted it.I also check WTD topics even when i've got a FS topic up. people who want to buy and sell in the same thread?2 topics. hI-OOPS-CAPS
its an excellent idea to split, i can browse the topics and rise my hopes for something im after. then realise its a wtd topici dont know why anyones making it more complicated than thats. eskimo
Argument for: Many of us have parts lying around which we'd like to get rid of but couldn't be bothered to make a topic. So a wanted forum would make it easier for us to sell these.Another vote for yes here. Can never be bothered to bump the topic. It just gets tiresome quick. Hendrix
A yes from me, deffo worth a try.But in response to the signing people up the every thread subscription thing...Can't you just block it on your Mail Settings ? Luke Rainbird
Well, that was confusing! Looks good quick note - perhaps put the classifieds section between 'full members' and 'trials media'?Maybe it's just be not liking to have to learn new things... Mark W
Seeing as more and more sellers are dicking around buyers, if NMC dudes arranged to buy something from some kind of NMC "Wanted" thread, they'd have one less means of communication with the person selling the product...
