Im guessing your a streety rider if you have a base? if so you want something with a high rise but shortish so it pulls up nice and doesnt feel to long. 40mm is alot so most stems should be ok, just get something thats has a highish rise as you cant run spacers.

Best think to do is just search the interweb.

If you mean your steerer tube has been cut too short , then there's not a whole lot you can do about it , unless you're currently running an unusually tall headset and replace it with a VERY slimline one . Don't trust any setup that leaves more than 7mm between top of steerer tube and stem top unless you have outstanding dental insurance .

The steerer on my Megamo forks is so short that only one of the bolts bolts directly over the steerer tube, although when you tighten up the top one it does help quite a bit. To put my mind at ease I bought a headlock from ebay which seems to do the trick, so maybe you could consider that?

Ok i got my base back to day with onza forks in,but the length im left with to put a stem on is around 40mm can anybody tell me a good stem toget or who may be selling 1 to help me out please? :ermm:

Ooh dear, this numerical text talk rubbish will never do. I don't see what a Norse giant has to do with anything either, unless he left with your stem.
