John Shrewsbury

Riding was good, as I expected (Y)

But he should be wearing a helmet...not only for is own sakes if one of his imaginative, flowy, aggressive lines goes abit tits up, but because hes a recognised, respected rider and some novices/the people he inspires are going to take his example...

...and we all like to know/know how certain moves/lines can end up well, but those times when certain bits don't go to plan?! Fair enough he has the confidence in his riding not to wear a helmet - but the people who look up to him might not have that same confidence, or at worst "false confidence" because "John Shrewsbury can do it without a helmet - so can I" attitude. I'd rather see everyone in every disapline wearing a helmet so that that there isn't this "fashion" thing with helmets or the case here of not wearing it.

Other than my helmet rant I enjoyed the video, well editied, enough riding/substance to the vid - street and natty/comps (Y), and good music...only wished it was longer.

:)

Completely agree, in fact ive told John exactly what you've said and he agrees as well. Once he gets better after his shoulder operation he wont be seen riding without one, he tells me, so its all good!

Expect more footage of John this year.

Great riding and a very clean edit - very pro. However, what's up with the colour distortion in the corners? Presumably this relates to your wide angled lense, but why?

The orange relates to Johns involvement with Heatsink, a colour people can relate to brake pad... colouring lol!

I really do agree with u mate. As you can see on sum clips like the wall ride, then up onto rail im wearing a helmet as i cud see myself hurting myself very badly. But it is deffo not a fashion thing and wud never say it was. Its just sumtimes i feel i ride abit more relaxed without a helmet and thats it really. But if i know im really gonna hurt myseft doing sumthing crazy then i will wear one.

Thanks again guys for the comments and i promise ill drag jonny out soon to shoot sum footage. Hoping to ride at the Easter bunny hop comp in skipton, so cya there.

In a sense I'm the same as John - in what he said earlier Tom... I make a judgement call for everything, subconsciously or not...and yes I don't wear a helmet sometimes for stuff, but its that "stuff"/moves that I determine as low risk things where the worst outcome isn't, in comparison to other moves, "that bad".

And when I'm filming/go out to have a "mad days riding" where I'l be pushing the limits I'l always wear a helmet.
