NVWOCI WVS
Right, I used to ride an 04 echo pure and monty 231, both of which had a shortish wheelbase and lowish BB. Now I ride a vario Styx and i really like the way it rides, the only problem is I find it really difficult to get up stuff on!I can gap further on it than my old bike and I feel really comfortable on the back wheel, but the highest obstacle I can get up to back wheel is now is little more than 30 inches. I dont know what it is? I'm running monty bars and a zoo stem (100x10) with 15mm of spacers.any suggestions on making the bike easier to get up things? eskimo
Stop trying to bunny hop stuff I'm joking as i've never seen you ride. Guess try a bigger stem, or it might just take you a little while longer to get used to it. I find some bikes really hard work to ride in certain ways, and they take weeks to get used to. Whereas sometimes i instantly feel able to ride them.[edit] it won't help riding the bmx either. Edited March 10, 2008 by eskimo
craigjames
im in the same situation, not to the same extent, but im running a 110x10 stem with 25mm of spacers and it still feels too low for bunny hops and manuals. but fine for gaps, pedal ups etc. ive worked out it needs to be 10-15mm higher so a 120x17. 120x20 or 130x25 stem are the options really.
