trialsboy26
Just a word of caution if you're under 16, (I think or 18 but pretty sure that's knives), don't go in "halfrauds" expecting to buy paints over the counter! Unless you get some 16 year old serving you...who's also a mate...and the manager is off ill...and theres a 17 year old deputy in charge you get the picture! Just in case to save you embarrassment!! Other than that it takes ages to get it anywhere near prepped to look smooth due to all the abnormal shapes, I tried and got bored it ended up two tone and I had a mate riding round on a Saracen X-ile years ago with one chainstay sanded as he never could be bothered sanding the rest! Plus if it is cracked maybe a new frame would be easier Have fun either way!

riddler
going back to the paint topic i was just wandering if people could give me there views on a colour scheme. im going to primer the bike, then spray it and finish it with a nice laquer only i dont know what colour scheme to use. i was thinking red frame with white rims and white handle bars or red frame with black rims and keeping everything else on the bike black.- Red/White- Red/BlackI just want to see other peoples opinions. riddler
i am thinking red/white.as for frames right now I'm thinking about sticking with what i have the crack has been dealt with as far as i know. and i just think that for me its best just to stick with the frame i have learn the basics then consider something a bit better

riddler
have an original saracen and spray it a non standard colour and get some stickers made lol sooooo should i go with the fluorescent colors then i was thinking of spraying it with a metallic red color then a coat of lacquer on top make it shine, the rims white, the spokes black or silver, the handle bars possibly white? Peperami
Paint is the last thing id be spending money upgrading, lol at all the suggestions for that. A pretty colour wont help your riding if the other things arent sorted first. No one has mentioned pedals yet... it has plastic pedals?!!Some grippy pedals, some decent tyres, and some decent brakes pads. Then junk the gears in favour of a singlespeed set-up (22/19 would be a good start) and see how it rides from there...
