Bigman
Yeh, that grinder would be ok, i got a £13 halfords one at the moment, vibrates abit but does the job!As for discs, i find cutting disks do the best job for grinds.Adam
RossMcd
halfords do one for the exact same price! its the one i use and it comes with some decent disks too!would recomend it like!
JaMmY
I use a 10 pound challenger grinder form halfords.Dosent matter what grinder it matters about the disc.and i find that a metal grinding disc does the job---bosch 58p bargain! Fish-Finger-er
for the amount youll use it for trials, just get the cheapest one you can do, it will crack easier if you drop it, the motor wont be as strong, it wont be as durable, and it will shake around a bit more, but for 5 minutes use, every 6 weeks, it doesnt really matter. Revolver
a cheap one from B&Q or halfords, maybe. look for different discs, they come in finer or coarser, and you might find one to be more suitable than the others.Or maybe you could get a dremel and the grinding bit for it, dremels are quite useful. Plus, the grinding bit is about the right size for a wheel, iirc.
Matthew_Gibson
Got mine from aldi! does the job.
Gavyn.
another vote for halfords although mine was around £25. I use it fairly often on my car and stuff like that so it was worth spending the extra, the tenner one would do though.
Radfax
i use a black a decker one now but i used to use a cheap argoose one, did the job fine! The best discs i have used for grinding rims is pundland 3 for a quid ones! last ages aswell!

Muel
I have a Black and Decker thing, that's nearly 20 years old.Vibrates like f**k, motor is knackered, but it still goes round.
mike
i find a masonary grinding disc better for a harsher grind but doesn't lat that long, i have to re-grind every month or so, when its freshly ground, its amazing. the metal cutting disc i used is harder to get a harsher grind but lasts aaaages
Dave Anscombe
Any grinder does the job really.....i use a 2 speed grinder.....forlight sharp grinds a useit on the high speed with a metal cutting disc.....for real deep harsh grinds i put it on the slow setting and use a stone cutting disc Dave
Jolfa
Mines from Argos, cost around £10, still works 5 years later, although the switch is abit dodgy now..
RobinJI
I use one of these Skil girnder thingys Works really well, cuts fast, nice and manoverable/light and seems really good quality. But then I use it for alot more than grinding bike rims, so if you purely want it for rims, get to halfords and get a 10 quid thing, it'll make your rim jaggid once every 6 weeks so who cares about anything else.
